North & Central America

How do I know if I am eligible to receive a financial grant?

All Accor Heartists in North & Central America, financially impacted by the global COVID-19 crisis are eligible to apply. Grants will be determined based on the nature of the event, related expenses and extent of each applicant's financial need. See more details on eligibility here

If i am eligible to apply for a grant, am i guaranteed to receive one?

ALL Heartist Fund charitable grants are not guaranteed to all who apply. Grants are awarded on a case-by-case basis. Requests may be fully awarded, partially awarded or not awarded at all. Grants are contingent upon availability of funds in the COVID-19 ALL Heartist Fund.

What is the turnaround time to process a grant application?

An update on your application will be provided as soon as administratively feasible, and at the latest, within 10 days from the date that the application is received by the Committee. Before submitting an application, please ensure it is complete and all required documentation is available. You will be notified by email or telephone if your application requires additional information.

How will I be notified of the decision?

The grant administrator will notify you by email of your application status, including whether your application has been approved. Please note all decisions are final.

Do I have to repay the grant?

No. Grants are not loans and do not have to be repaid. Please note, however, that repayment will be required if a grant is received based on misrepresentation or omission of material fact.

If I receive a grant from the ALL Heartist Fund, do I need to pay taxes on it?

While the All Heartist Fund has generally been structured with the intent to allow Heartists in North & Central America to receive grants free from tax, each Heartist’s situation is different and taxes may apply; taxes arising from the grant will be the sole responsibility of the Heartist so we recommend each grant recipient review their own tax position to determine whether taxes are payable

Will my information remain confidential?

All requests and inquiries provided by grant applicants will be treated as confidential and shared only with individuals directly involved in grant administration, processing, and tax reporting. All records, including medical information, referrals and evaluations, are kept strictly confidential in accordance with federal and state/province laws.

Our goal is to help you during these difficult times, so rest assured that your personal records will never be shared with anyone else without your permission.

Can I apply more than once?

Employees may be eligible for a grant up to two times. Further requests for extenuating circumstances will be reviewed on a case by case basis. However the total grant amount per Heartist is subject to the maximum grant limit.

I borrowed money from my friends and family, or my retirement fund to help me get caught up on my bills. Will the Fund reimburse me so that I can pay them back?

No. The Fund is available for Heartists who do not have the means themselves, or through other resources such as loans, to pay eligible expenses.
